Translation - Työtä, jolla on merkitys?

Work with a meaning?

Working as a civil servant in a town is always mostly a routine from a day to another, from a week to another. That is a normal part of the task. When having doing this non-stop for five years, it feels wonderful to try something completely different. “Do work with a meaning” is a recruiting slogan in Finland, and perhaps may have been over used too. But still, it is so true. Meaningless work hardly exists, but varieties are easy to find and feel. The hopes of an employee and employer do not always fit together when observing individual education and working background. For this project I feel that these interests fitted together very strongly, and I feel extremely privileged to have a chance to test how my background in teacher education and experience in education management can benefit developing countries. My gratitude is given to MKFC Stockholm College, which economically makes this project possible.

Some more information about our projects - In a nutshell it is a question of producing new kind of additional material in health education for teachers and organising teacher and administrative workshops to discuss the same matters. We have started our networking, with an aim to find four villages in Ghana and Zambia committed in this work. We organize the workshop in these villages, and collect the feedback. Once the project year ends, we hopefully will have a good and basically finished material in use. If finances allow, we have planned to recruit so called CAP-teams (Community Action Plan), which can continue the same work for education and development in both countries. eLearning will be used to the utmost level. I will get back to this interesting topic later on in this blog.
